Art History

In the club, students acquire subject-specific and research competencies while studying Ukrainian and world culture. The learning is built around exploring works of Ukrainian and international cultural and artistic heritage, which enriches students' worldview and teaches them to better perceive and analyze artistic phenomena. The hands-on approach makes it possible to develop one's own creative potential and to become a competent participant in the cultural ecosystem who finds joy in creative exploration, research, and discovery.

In the club, students will begin their first research project in art history. They will learn to analyze works of art, use different approaches to studying the history and theory of art, work with sources of information related to the arts, and analyze and present their results.

Every year, club members win prizes at Stage II of the All-Ukrainian Research Paper Defense Competition for student members of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in the section “Theory and History of Art and Art Criticism.” They win the national selection round of the GENIUS Olympiad Ukraine in the “Art” category, and take part in the Serhii Kemskyi All-Ukrainian Essay Competition dedicated to the Day of Dignity and Freedom and in other competitive events for school students.
